The Pit Mitt is made of aramid fibers, technology developed for the aerospace industry, to form the ultimate protective heat barrier. The Pit Mitt has a textured silicone pattern on the surface for superior grip and the individual fingers of the glove provide far greater dexterity than an oven mitt. So not only can you can brush on seasonings or slather on a sauce without singeing your skin, you can grab a skillet or skewers right off the grill.

These fibers, which are used in space suits and firefighter gear, block heat from the soft, blended cotton inner lining, and can withstand temperatures up to 475F (246 C).
