Cutting Options For All Skill Levels

There are lots of options for cutting Weekend Walls. Some of our products can be cut with just a razor knife and a square! Other cutting techniques include using a jigsaw, miter saw and square and a chop saw. It all depends on the accessibility of these tools and what you're comfortable with.

Option 1: Jigsaw

The easiest method of cutting Weekend Walls is by using a jigsaw. It is simple, quick, and accurate. A jigsaw will do all of the cuts including cross cuts, rip cuts and accurate cuts for around outlets. Plug-in versions of jigsaws can be purchased for less than 45 dollars.

Helpful Tip: The key to making quick and accurate cuts with the jigsaw is using a speed square. Have the foot of the jigsaw ride along the edge of the square for perfectly square cuts every time.

Option 2: Miter Saw & Square/Miter Box

A simple miter saw and square work just fine as well. This is a cheap option and is available at most hardware stores. A miter box is helpful to use with your miter saw when dealing with square cuts. Be aware that most miter boxes won't cut 5″ wide material so you may need to keep that in mind when looking for one.

Helpful Tip: Start your cuts lightly and by pulling the saw towards you several times. Once you have started your cut, then you can use a back-and-forth motion. Play around and experiment with what works best for you.

Option 3: Chop Saw

Chop saws aren’t as common but they are great for quickly cutting our thin material.

Helpful Tip: It is best to equip your chop saw with a blade that has many teeth. The more teeth on the blade, the smoother the cut and the better the fit.
