The hook design splits up to 3" of hide from the inside out, separating the hair while making a precision cut. The blade also spins 360-degrees around the leg to open the hide and pop the joint. The convex blade at the bottom of the knife was designed after the Alaskan Ulu knife. With the knife housing laying against the flesh, the blade is elevated just the right amount to make the knife a guided skinner.
