Step 1: Prepare the stone

1. Fully immerse the whetstone in water and soak until bubbles no longer appear (approx. 5-10 minutes).

2. Place the whetstone together with the rubber base on a steady surface.

Step 2: Sharpening

3. Use the lower grit side of the whetstone for rough grinding. Move the blade back and forth at an angle of 10-30 degrees, applying gentle pressure. Starting at the tip of the blade, continue through the middle section to finish at the base. Continue to apply water to the whetstone surface, while sharpening. Repeat previous step on opposite side of blade.

4. Turn over whetstone. Repeat the sharpening process on the higher grit side to achieve fine grinding.

Step 3: Finishing

5. After the process is finished, when looking directly at the blade, you should see the blade line. You can test it on a paper to see if it is sharp enough for your needs. Repeat the previous steps, if there is room for improvement.
