COLOURLOCK Fluid Leather 7ml is perfect for repairing scuffs, cracked leather, scratches, tears, rips and holes on leather car seats, furniture, sofas, settees, handbags, leather jackets etc. It remains soft and flexible once dry. Fluid leather is available in 46 shades from our color chart.

Q: How can I ensure I choose the correct color?
A: Ask us before placing your order and we will send you a printed copy of our color chart for FREE. Choose a color that provides the most suitable match.

Q: What if none of the colors match my leather item?
A: For an extra charge, we can custom mix any color. Just send a small sample to us by post (minimum size 1 inch by 1inch). Custom colors are only available in 5 fl.oz or larger sizes but we can provide an exact match.

Q: I need a color for my car interior?
A: Send us your chassis number/ VIN , make and model of the car and we will find out the exact details of your interior and advice how to order. We use our collection of original leather samples for most automotive manufacturers to custom mix your color. If we don't have a sample, we will need you to send us one!

Q: Do I need any other product to finish the repair?
A: It depends on what you are trying to repair. The filler dries to a glossy finish. If this isn't desired, applying Colourlock Leather Fresh in the same color is necessary. The filler cannot be sanded dry, use Colourlock GLD Pen to remove excess filler. Will need to be ordered separately.



Do's - Best practices to follow when using Fluid leather

Before applying Fluid Leather - Ensure the repair area is clean and free of dirt. Smooth any rough areas and scratches with Colourlock Sanding Pad.

During application -

  • Test first in a hidden area. Remove the cap and fill the damaged area
  • Evenly spread the filler using a spatula or palette knife
  • Allow to dry on its own. Depending on the amount used, this can take anywhere from 20 mins to 2 hours.
  • The filler shrinks as it dries and further applications may be required.
After applying Fluid Leather - If the surface is too shiny, use Colourlock Leather Fresh in the same color to reduce gloss. to remove excess filler once it is dry, use Colourlock GLD Pen. Full instructions will be provided with the product but feel free to get in touch if you need further help.



Dont's

  • Colourlock Fluid leather filler is designed only to fix minor damages. If the damage is too big the item may need to be replaced.
  • Scratches and general wear and tear on the color surface do not need to be treated with Fluid Leather. Sanding the surface with Colourlock Sanding Pad and refreshing the color with Colourlock Leather Fresh Dye will suffice.
  • Do not mix two separate colors to get a shade you want.
  • Do not use a heatgun to speed up the drying process. Allow it to dry on its own.
  • The round label with a color dot is only for indication purposes, it is not a true reflection of the color of the filler. request a free copy of the color chart if you are in doubt.
  • Computer screens display colors incorrectly, please ask us first if you are unsure.

How to fix a hole with leather missing?

  • Glue a piece of backlining cloth underneath the hole and surrounding areas to reinforce the area.
  • Cut out a patch of leather from a hidden area and adjust its shape according to the hole.
  • Glue this patch on to the reinforced area.
  • Finally, fill remaining areas using Colourlock Fluid Leather Filler.

How to fix a tear in the leather?

  • Examine the area where the tear is. If the tear is in a high tension area, glue a backlining cloth underneath to re-inforce it otherwise just glue the edges of the tear.
  • Then close the tear by filling remaining areas with Colourlock Fluid Leather.

How to fix large tears?

  • In case of larger tears, it may be advisable to sew the tear before filling.
  • Use a rotary machine to drill two small holes (approx. 2-3 centimetres) either side of the tear and sew with a round needle.Lay the knot underneath and pull the tear together.
  • Once the tear is reinforced, fill and cover the threads using Colourlock Fluid Leather.
