The Corning Soda Lime Glass Petri Culture Dish with Cover is a flat, clear, 60mm diameter x 15mm high petri dish for culturing cells and other scientific applications. Soda lime silica glass withstands repeated wet or dry sterilization, can be autoclaved at 121 degrees C, and withstands normal service temperatures to 110 degrees C and extreme service temperatures to 460 degrees C. The petri dish has beaded edges that provide mechanical strength to resist breakage and create equal spacing of the side walls to help reduce condensed moisture from being drawn into the dish contents. The bottom has a triangular enamel reference point for serial dilutions. The covered dish is not airtight. Petri dishes are commonly used in laboratories and other scientific applications.
Corning manufactures consumable glass, ceramics, and plastic laboratory tools under the brands Corning, Costar, Cellgro, Pyrex, Axygen, Gosselin, and Lambda, among others. The company, founded in 1908, is headquartered in New York, NY.
