Seasoning Your Cast Iron Cookware

Before first use, be sure to clean your cookware with mild soap and water, and dry it well. Seasoning is a process by which a layer of cooking oil is applied and baked onto the cast iron. The seasoning layer protects the cookware and provides a nonstick surface for cooking. This cast iron is already pre-seasoned, and after initial cleaning can be used right away.

How To Care For Your Cast Iron Cookware?

Your Rust-Resistant, Pre-Seasoned Cast Iron can go in the dishwasher but it is recommended to be washed by hand with warm water and mild soap. Make sure to dry the cast iron with a towel after washing. Apply a thin coat of cooking oil of your choice to all surfaces of the pan (handle, interior, and exterior) immediately after cleaning, as seasoning works best with a warm pan. Towel off any excess oil.
