This harmonica is special tuned (not standard richter tuned) to make it easier for beginner and intermediate players to play major melodies in the same key as the harmonica.

You will be playing a C harmonica in the key of C major. If you know basic major patterns on the standard tuned harmonica you can easily use a tuned harmonica and reuse most of what you already know without having to learn new patterns and complex theory.

You can play the C major scale in the lower octave with only 1 double bend instead of 2 !

Difference between standard tuned and Paddy richter tuned ? The Polar Paddy richter tuned harmonica uses the 3 blow as a new note instead of repeating the 2 draw. So you don’t have to bend the 3 draw anymore to get an A on a C harmonica. That gives you more flexibility and smoother runs to play standard major melodies in the key of your harmonica.

Difference between Super Country tuning and Paddy Richter ?

The Paddy richter is helping you play major in the same key as the harmonica (C on a C) whereas the Super country tuning helps you play major melodies from a 5th above the key of the harmonica.

The Paddy richter harmonica is meant to be played in first position (root is on blow 1) whereas the Super Country harmonica is meant for second position (root is on 2 draw).

456 blow gives you an A minor chord (on a C harmonica) but then 567 gives you a C Major. Great to modulate between natural minor and major melodies. The Paddy Richter tuning makes it easier to play flute, violin, typical Celtic and Irish music on the diatonic harmonica as well as bluegrass and Folk tunes.
