Our History

Campia has proud legacy of resourcefulness and joy. The story begins in the 1920's, when silk was nearly impossible to obtain. With an entrepenuerial sense of ingenuity the founder of Campia, Samuel Klaus, bought the silk from used parachutes to obtain the coveted quality materials needed to create Campia's shirts. Samuel then hired artists to hand paint floral designs onto the recycled silk. Next, the company translated the artists' vision into beautiful tropical shirts.

Klaus achieved his dream of making the world a little more beautiful and happy with each tropical shirt. While founded in the luxury of coastal relaxation, Campia's aim is more than just embracing a vacation feel. The Campia designs are meant to inspire cheerfulness and light-hearted contentment. Vacation should not be the only time you are happy. With each Campia shirt you bring home, the artists hope you feel a sense of relaxed happiness.
