MECHANIX WEAR CARBONX FLAME-RESISTANT GLOVE TECHNOLOGY

CarbonX starts life as a fiber called oxidized polyacrylonitrile, or O-PAN for short. When exposed to high heat, CarbonX chars from the outside in, expanding and smothering oxygen needed for fire. The magic of this fiber lies in the processes to make it flame retardant. O-PAN material is exposed to nearly 4000°F in a two-step process where the fibers are pre-charred to be woven. Ballistic and oxidized fibers are added to create a material that is able to withstand a 2000°F blowtorch flame 20 times longer than a comparable material.

In 480°F heat CarbonX retains 100% of its strength. CarbonX surpasses the Vertical Flame Test, Thermal Protective Performance Test (TPP), and the instrumented test for ARC Flash and certification from the SFI Foundation.


CarbonX Level 1 CarbonX Level 1 flame-resistant gloves are constructed with genuine leather and backed with a comfortable top layer of flame-resistant CarbonX stretch-knit. The wide leather cuff allows for easy entry and a fit you can trust when the heat is on. Meets or exceeds SFI 3.3/1 specifications.	CarbonX Level 5 CarbonX Level 5 gloves are constructed genuine leather and backed with two top layers of flame-resistant CarbonX. Intense conditions demand increased protection so we incorporated a high-density accordion knuckle to shield your hands against impact hazards. The wide leather cuff allows for easy entry and a fit you can trust when the heat is on. Meets or exceeds SFI 3.3/5 & ARC 47.6 specifications.	CarbonX Level 10 The CarbonX Level 10 is constructed with genuine leather and backed with three top layers of fire-retardant CarbonX stretch-knit with SFI level 10 protection. The high-density accordion knuckle padding protects your hands from impact hazards, while the extended elastic cuff holds the glove securely in place. Meets or exceeds SFI 3.3/10 & ARC 41.8 specifications.
