To Make Ice Balls

You may notice that it is difficult to fill the ice balls to the very top or you may notice that water leaks out from the top holes.

This is by design. When water freezes, it expands. To get a perfectly formed ice ball, fill the tray to the designated rim and place the cover on top. Some water may escape through the top holes. This is OK. When the water freezes, it will expand, filling the entire ball.

To Remove the Ice Balls

Don't forget to quickly run the ice tray under warm water before twisting and removing the ice balls. The water will loosen them out as well as prevent the tray from cracking.

Fill the bottom tray with water, place the cover on top (note that some water will squirt out from the top holes allowing for expansion during freezing) and put in the freezer. To remove, run the frozen ice tray under warm water for a few seconds to loosen the cover. For highly decorative ice spheres, try adding a garnish such as a mint leaf or raspberry before freezing. Dishwasher safe. Made in the USA.
