RiceSelect Organic Whole Wheat Couscous is a nutritious, all-natural and easy-to-prepare product. Serve RiceSelect Organic Whole Wheat Couscous as a great side dish, salad or entrée. Made with organically grown durum semolina winter wheat, Organic Whole Wheat Couscous is a great rice substitute. The versatile RiceSelect Organic Whole Wheat Couscous is Star-K Kosher Certified.


Step 1 In medium saucepan bring water, salt (optional) and butter (optional) to a boil.	Step 2 Add couscous, stirring quickly. Remove from heat and cover. Let stand 4-5 minutes.	Step 3 Fluff with fork before serving. Yields approximately 2 cups cooked couscous.

Couscous with Fried Shallots

Preparation

-Combine broth, olive oil, cumin, and pepper in medium saucepan; bring to a boil.

-Stir in couscous. Cover; remove from heat. Let stand 5 minutes.

-While couscous is standing, heat about ½ inch vegetable oil in heavy skillet over medium-high heat.

-Add shallots in batches and fry, stirring occasionally, until golden brown (about 1-2 minutes).

-Remove with slotted spoon to paper towels to drain. Season with salt. Fluff couscous.

-Serve topped with shallots.

Preparation time: 10 minutes

Cook time: 10 minutes
