The O.C. White TKPZT-LV2 Pro-Zoom 6.5 Digital Trinocular Stereo Zoom Microscope with 22" HD LED Monitor has a pair of 10x super-widefield high-eyepoint eyepieces, a trinocular port with HD 1080P camera, a 1.0x to 6.5x zoom objective and 0.5 auxiliary objective for 5x to 65x continuous magnification, upper LED illumination, and a ball-bearing base. The digital camera streams HD (high-definition) video to the monitor. The trinocular viewing head has a binocular head with interpupillary adjustment, fixed inclination to reduce eye and neck strain, and 360-degree rotation capability to provide a more comprehensive view and enable sharing; and a trinocular port that accepts the included 0.3x CCD adapter for the camera. High-eyepoint eyepieces ease viewing for viewers wearing glasses. Dioptric adjustment accommodates individual eye-strength differences. The zoom objective provides low magnification and a longer focal length for inspecting large-scale specimens, or specimens that require hands-on manipulation or repair, including rocks, minerals, watches, or circuit boards. A digital stereo zoom microscope provides zoom magnification that allows the user to zoom in on the specimen within a continuous magnification range. It is used for inspection and dissection when viewing three-dimensional images on a monitor is desired.
The microscope has a ring light for upper (episcopic) illumination that reflects light off the specimen for enhanced visibility of opaque specimens. The LED light source has nine diodes that provide bright, cool light for working with temperature-sensitive or live specimens, and a rheostat to control the amount of light emanating from the lamp. The base has a double ball-bearing arm for secure positioning and is weighted for stability.

Microscopes are instruments used to enhance the resolution of an object or image. Types include compound, stereo, or digital. Compound microscopes use a compound optical system with an objective lens and an eyepiece. Stereo microscopes show object depth in a three-dimensional image. Digital microscopes are used to display an image on a monitor, rather than looking through a lens. Microscopes can have monocular (one), binocular (two), or trinocular (three) eyepieces, with varying magnification abilities. Magnification ability refers to the size of an image. Resolution, also known as resolvant power, refers to the clarity of the image. The interaction between field of view (FOV), numerical aperture (NA), and working distance (WD) determines resolution. Microscopes can control magnification through a fixed focus, or through a range of adjustments. They can also utilize LED, fluorescent, and mirror light sources to help control viewing capabilities. Microscopes are widely used in education, lab research, biology, metallurgy, engineering, chemistry, manufacturing, and in the medical, forensic science, and veterinary industries.
O.C. White manufactures lighting fixtures for medical, scientific, and fabrication applications. The company, founded in 1894, is headquartered in Thorndike, MA.
