The Buff Stoneware clay is excellent for making durable dishes, sculptures, planters, patio bases, and other utility and decorative ware. The bisque is very dense and semi-vitreous and is buff at cone 5 and soft gray at cone 10. Ideal for all hand methods of modeling including: slab, pinch, coil, sculpture, and wheel throwing!

Firing range of Cone 5-10 with best results at Cone 5 46-M can be bisque fired to Cone 04 resulting in a porous bisque on which AMACO high fire glazes are easy to apply. Shrinkage: Cone 5, 12%; Cone 10, 13.2% Absorption: Cone 5, 1.8%; Cone 10, 0%

AMACO Hi-Fire Buff No. 46 Stoneware Clay is ideal for modeling, throwing, pressing and slip painting. Stoneware clay has a firing range from Cone 5 - Cone 10 and can be glaze fired at Cone 5 temperature. Clay is very dense, semi-vitreous as well as soft gray color at Cone 10 and light cream color at lower temperatures. 50 lb Moist clay is talc free, Non-Toxic and comes in a container with two 25 lb plastic bags.
