The brad point drill bit has three key attributes that make it ideal for drilling or boring wood.

1. The Pointed Tip: The pointed tip allows you to be very accurate when starting your hole. Being accurate allows you to hit your exact mark and enables you to have the best finished product possible. The tip also prevents walking or sliding when starting your hole. Standard bit without the tip tend to "slip" at the start.
2. Sharp Spur Edges: The sharp spur edges literally cut through the wood producing clean, smooth edges! For woodworkers this is ideal simply because the hole won't have the rough edges like some bits produce.
3. Extra Wide Flutes: Extra wide flutes makes "clearing" the bit from debris or built up wood much easier. As you are drilling, it is recommended that you "clear" or pull the bit up and out of the hole until the bit is clear of any debris. Doing this reduces friction and prolongs the life of the drill bit.

Each drill bit has a designated spot in the storage case. While most of the bits are marked with the size on the shank, the smaller bits are not due to their size. The storage case has three drill bit holders that are clearly marked with the fractional drill bit sizes. This makes locating the bit much easier and the bit holders help keep the drill bits safe from accidental damage.

The case has a unique feature to keep the bits from banging around when being moved. The drill bit holders are attached to the lid of the case on the inside keeping the bits from flopping when the case is closed. This helps prevent the bits from being damaged by preventing contact with the sides of the case. Being attached to the lid also presents the bits you to in an upright position when you open the case. The storage case locks with slide lock and helps keep the bits from falling out in case of accidentally dropping it.
