Why infusions?

The immersion process used for cold-brewing and French Press coffee is an opportunity for ingredients to steep and mingle over time while brewing. So we hand-mix our coffee with botanicals like antioxidant-rich cacao for deep chocolate flavor, raw coconut shreds for buttery sweetness, or even cayenne for a pinch of heat that also kickstarts digestion.

We started enhancing our coffee with local botanicals while living in Nicaragua, and were inspired to recreate the experience for all to enjoy.

Meet the husband-and-wife team behind Good Trip, Andrew and Angela.

After a life-changing year on the road, we landed in Colorado and started Good Trip to offer products that better serve our bodies, the planet, and the people who produce coffee.

Coffee is a vehicle for discovery, positivity and community; it’s a way of travel. And with travel, comes wisdom. A shift in perspective. A common language. A moment for connection.

The trip of a lifetime...

During the summer of 2015, we left our careers and set out to travel on a shoestring and write a new chapter.

Over the course of nine months, we travelled through Africa, Europe, and made our way to the Pacific coast of Nicaragua. We started buying green coffee from local markets and roasting it on the stove. For two coffee-loving engineers, it was a dream come true, and ignited a deep interest in learning more about coffee from the source.

Into the test kitchen...

Inspired to recreate the fresh cold brew we made in Nicaragua, we saw that the cold brew market in the US was getting crowded with bottles and cans full of sugar and dairy, requiring complex supply chains to ship around products that are mostly water. We knew there was a better way.

Having embraced a spirit of simplicity in our own lives, we decided to apply these values to our products by making it easy for people to cold brew at home without equipment-- or the need for sugar.

In December, 2016, we debuted our first product line of cold brews to friends and family, In 2017, we hit the Denver-Boulder maker's market scene (and welcomed our daughter!) In 2018, we launched our revamped collection, and our cold brews became available in several Anthropologie locations across the country. And today, the journey continues.

She produced your coffee. The women we source from are pioneers. By sharing their stories and building a sustainable market, together we’re creating a more equitable and viable future. To further promote more sustainable communities, we give 1% of sales to fund education for women producers and their children. Investing in women is powerful. The benefits extend well beyond the household for coffee-growing communities around the world.	The story of coffee is a human story. Most farmers sell their coffee as a commodity to middlemen, leaving farmers with the most at stake earning the smallest share. Our sourcing partner, Vega Coffee, works with small-scale farmers and gives them the tools and training to roast and package their coffee, which allows them to earn up to four times more per pound. The additional income earned has a tangible impact, funding community initiatives like education and healthcare. Vega’s farmer roasters play a key role in transforming their communities with lifelong skills that go beyond the farm.	Overcoming the odds. Good coffee goes beyond taste. Over 125 million people depend on coffee cultivation as their livelihood. In an industry worth an estimated 100 billion USD, coffee farmers have the smallest voice. Women producers face the greatest challenges— unequal pay, limited rights, barriers to land ownership, lack of access to education and resources… the list goes on.
