Riding in the heat just got easier with the Gore C7 Vent Bib Short+. Developed in collaboration with retired champ Cancellara, this short is highly breathable yet maintains the support needed to ride at your best. It's perfect for hot and humid days, as it's made with quick-drying 4-way stretch fabrics that are cool to the touch and quickly move heat away from the skin. Laser cut holes in the bibs as well as strategic mesh paneling work together to provide outstanding breathability, without taking away from the short's compressive support. For the current line of C7 bib shorts, Cancellara's input was used to develop a revolutionary new design Gore calls "central torso architecture." With traditional bib shorts, the shorts are made first and the chamois is added onto a fully built bib short shell. With central torso architecture, the chamois is fully integrated with the bib straps and the garment is constructed around it. Gore claims this design results in a chamois that stays put all the time, no matter how much you move around on the saddle. The idea behind it is that while riding in traditional shorts, your bib straps exert tension on the stretchy garment fabric from multiple directions, which can cause the chamois to shift positions, especially as you move in and out of the saddle. With central torso architecture, the entire garment revolves around the seat insert with no parts moving independently of each other, keeping the chamois in an optimal position at all times. Considering that the C7 Vent Bib Short+ is made for hot weather riding, Gore employs their Expert Vent chamois to keep you cool and comfortable. A complex shape and dense foam construction minimizes impacts and avoids numbness by taking pressure off critical areas. And as the name implies, the Expert Vent chamois is more ventilated than its siblings, absorbing a smaller amount of moisture but drying more quickly, making it ideal for summer races or even indoor training sessions.
