Firetoys is proud to present our very own aerial silks (aerial fabric / tissus). Our silks are of a high quality, professional standard and made from a durable, ladder resistant fabric. The material's non-slip textured finish provides more grip than other aerial silks but still retains a sheen under stage lights.

Our silks differ from others in that they have a bit more stretch, making them slightly bouncy. These silks are also wider than many other aerial fabrics available. At 148cm wide, they create a chunky grip and are fantastic for cocoon style choreography. The extra width does mean children find Firetoys silks a bit harder to climb and wrap.

The downwards stretch in these silks doesn't need to be broken in and pulls out over 4-6 months but is fine for immediate use. As these silks have a medium stretch they are more suited for some advanced moves where more bounce is preferred. Our silks are still ok for beginners but the extra stretch makes them slightly harder to climb.

Please use ONLY the aerial hook (cloche) or the figure 8 to connect to the silk directly. The WLL of these silks when connected with the figure 8 is 128kg.

As these silks have a medium stretch they are more suited for some advanced moves where more bounce is preferred. Our silks are still ok for beginners but the extra stretch compared to Voltige silks makes them slightly harder to climb. Choose a length of silk that is double the height of the area/rig you are using plus 2 metres. The most popular length is 16m and this is about the minimum needed to perform drops as it will give you roughly 7m of silk between the anchor and floor.	Range Aerial silks are also known as tissus, tissue or aerial fabrics. Silks has become one of the most popular aerial disciplines and Firetoys provide good value but fully safety tested aerial fabrics in a range of lengths and the whole spectrum of colors. We currently hold blue, red, yellow, green, purple, lavender, orange, white, black and pink. All of these colors are available in sizes from 26' (8m) to 59' (18m).	Slack Drops All Aerial fabrics are prone to reaching high temperatures during long or high energy slack drops, this can result in small melted patches, and even holes. These holes are caused by the friction of the fabric rubbing against itself and the performer during high speed movement. Nylon and low stretch fabrics are more succeptible, so the stretchy polyester of the Firetoys Silks is slightly less prone to this phenomenon. However, you should always take care when practicing slack drops, and be aware of the high amount of friction you can generate during these drops. If you regularly perform slack drops, you will need to inspect the full length of your fabric regularly, and the fabric will need replacing more often.
