Position switches in the innovative SIRIUS 3SE5 series are modern in design, compact, modular and simple to connect.

With the standard position switches, mechanical positions of moved machine parts are converted into electrical signals. Through their modular and uniform design and large number of versions, the devices can meet practically all requirements in industry.

3SE5 devices are available with enclosure versions to suit the particular ambient conditions. Different control tasks can be performed with the best contact blocks suited for the particular purpose. And many different actuator versions are available to match the mechanical configuration of the moved machined parts. Dimensions, fixing points and characteristics are largely in accordance with the EN 50041 or EN 50047 standards.

Choose between Complete units and the Modular system

Popular versions of the position switches in standard enclosures are available as Complete units.

Thanks to the Modular system the user can also assemble switch variants which are not available as complete units. Each complete unit can also be supplied as a module.

This Siemens 3SE5 122-0BD02 mechanical limit switch comes as a complete unit with a 56 mm wide metal enclosure, one NO and one NC slow action contact, and a roller plunger actuator, and is suitable for use in plant and building automation systems. The slow action "break-before-make” operation ensures the normally-closed (NC) contact opens before the normally-open (NO) contact closes, with the actuator forcibly opening the NC contacts for use in safety circuits. The roller plunger actuator can be rotated around the enclosure axis in increments of 22.5 degrees and has a 13 mm high-grade steel roller. The actuator allows 3 mm of plunger travel past the switch activation point (overtravel) for greater tolerance when switching. This mechanical limit switch conforms to the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CENELEC) EN 50047 standard for dimensions and mechanical data and the EN 50041 standard for quality assurance, and is suitable for use in applications in which there is lateral actuation and relatively long overtravel.
