Made of durable granite, the Jamie Oliver Mortar & Pestle is great for pulverizing and grinding herbs and spices into seasoning pasts and spice mixtures.	Unpolished Interior The unpolished interior allows for more efficient grinding.	Generous 2 Cup Capacity The 6 inch diameter walls provide for a generous 2 cups capacity.


Season with White Rice With all Mortar & Pestles you'll want to be sure to season it the first time. Rinse with clean water (no soap) and let it air dry. You'll then want to grind a small handful of white rice. Discard and repeat until the rice grinds white.	Followed by Garlic Next add 4 cloves of garlic, mash and muddle them together.	Then Cumin with Salt & Pepper Add 1 teaspoon of cumin, 1 teaspoon of salt and 1 teaspoon of pepper to the garlic. Grind it all together and discard. Rinse once more (without soap) and allow to air dry. Your mortar and pestle is now ready for use!
