This inlet kit is designed with adaptors that will enable you to use 2" plumbing PVC (schedule 40) from your local store so it is a great way to save some money and time. Imagine running out of pipe in the middle of the install with no local dealers to buy your pipe. (Hardware stores and the big home improvement stores don't usually carry central vacuum pipe.) The kit includes the following: 3 - Standard Inlets in WHITE, 3 - Adaptors (this will attach the plumbing PVC to vacuum PVC), 3 - Hard 90° fittings, 3 - Mounting plates, Exclusive Central Vacuum Instruction Booklet is also included. Use with either non-electric hose or electric corded hose. These inlets require low voltage wiring for turning the unit on or off from the handle. These inlets have NO electrical capability. If electrical attachments are used, you need to use a central vacuum hose that plugs into the inlet, and then there will be a 4 to 6 foot cord that plugs into the wall for electricity (also known as a pigtail). Note: These inlets will NOT work with a direct connect hose. We recommend 1 inlet per 700 sq. feet. This kit is for THREE inlets or enough to cover 2100 square feet.

To make sure your central vacuum system reaches every room throughout the house, you must first determine the number of inlets you will need and their locations. We recommend one inlet valve per 700 square feet (63-72 sq m). Use only interior walls if possible, so you won't have to deal with insulation typically found in exterior walls.
