The LINE2design Guedel Oral Airway Kit is used to create an air passage way between the mouth and the posterior pharyngeal wall. Useful when the tongue and/or epiglottis fall back against the posterior pharynx in anesthetized or unconscious patients obstructing the flow of air. Smooth, flexible polyethylene airway with the reinforced bite block. Guedel Oral Airway Kit is used on unconscious patients to maintain an open airway, allow suction of fluids and depress the victim's tongue to prevent airway blockage. Bite blocks are color-coded for quick identification according to universally established standards. They have a flange that should rest against the patient's lips and prevent the airway from being inserted too deeply into the mouth. They are used commonly in pre-hospital emergency care and for short term airway management post anaesthetic or when manual methods are inadequate to maintain an open airway.
