WHAT IS BLUSAIGON?

"BLU" stands for BLUE (blue), which symbolizes the color of the sea because it is the sea that supplies nacre materials for the button industry of the family and it is also the color of the sky covered and provide life for us.

"Saigon" is the name of a once famous city in 1861, commonly known as "Pearl of the Far East", which is associated with many Vietnamese historical and cultural values and mixed with local culture. West (France, America).

Nacre, or pearl mosaic, is a long-standing craft of Vietnam. Due to the country’s abundant resource, products made of this material were often used by the royal court and in rich houses. Nacre is taken from mussels and snails. The pens are filled with shell to form elaborate patterns.

Artisans use various pieces of shells and attach them one by one onto the pen. The shells are then painted, grinded, sawed, chiselled and polished numerous times to achieve a rare, shiny luster.

Collecting Divers search for beautiful shells vein from deep oceans and also pearl oyster farms. Each shell has unique shell veins and non of them is the same.	Cleaning Pearl shells after being selected and sorted by size will undergo the process of cleaning the raw rough scales outside.	Grinding Be sharpened with very high accuracy because otherwise it will not match the assemblies of other parts. This stage requires workers to set the parameters and check the diameter of the pen continuously to make sure it is within the allowed tolerance.	Polishing After achieving a smooth and accurate grinding of the thickness, the worker will proceed to polish until the pearl becomes shiny, bright and smooth.
