The "drop" is the length of tablecloth that will hang over the side of your table. A short drop is appropriate for a dining room table or home use. For more formal affairs such as banquets or wedding receptions, it is common to have a longer drop, often reaching to the floor. It is important that your tablecloth drop not be more than the height of your table, or your guests will have extra material they may step or trip on.

All of the green highlighted combinations below are appropriate tablecloth sizes for a given table size. 

All measurements assume standard table height of 30".

• Always wash tablecloths on the delicate or gentle cycle
• Use a front load washer when possible, as large tablecloths may tend to wrap around the agitator of a top load washer, putting extra stress on the fabric and making it difficult to remove them from the washer.
• Wash tablecloths of the same color together, in the off chance that the color of your tablecloths runs.
• Wash in cold water, unless there are large greasy food stains. In this case pre-treat with dish detergent and wash in warm water.

• Dry your tablecloths in the dryer on the delicate setting. Monitor the dry cycle, and remove them from the dryer when they are MOSTLY dry, but still SLIGHTLY damp. Ironing tablecloths works best when a tablecloth is still a bit damp.
