OVERVIEW: WHAT IS LION’S MANE MUSHROOM?
One of the staples of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Hericium erinaceus or Lion’s Mane Mushrooms are increasingly studied for their neuroprotective effects.
Hericium erinaceus, also referred to as Bearded Tooth Mushroom, Hedgehog Mushroom, Bearded Hedgehog Mushroom, Pom Pom Mushroom, or Bearded Tooth Fungus. Lion’s Mane mushrooms have been traditionally used in Japan and China for hundreds of years.
Lion’s Mane mushrooms are edible mushroom you may find in Chinese vegetarian cuisine, used to replace pork or lamb. Lion’s Mane is in the the tooth fungus group and doesn’t look like your usual cap and stem mushroom. Instead, it features flowing, thick stringy barbs, almost making it look like the back of a white hedgehog. While not the most visually appealing appetite wise, this mushroom has some pretty promising research behind it and was once reserved only for the palates of the royal families.

DOES LION'S MANE MUSHROOM WORK?
This answer is highly variable. Lion's Mane is a long-term commitment to really enjoy the benefits, like eating a healthy diet, it helps restore and maintain more than it does significantly enhance.
The truth the blogs and hype-marketing writers won't tell you, is really, Lion's Mane mushroom will be most effective for those:
- addressing an active health concern that currently exist
- experiencing cognitive decline or memory issues
- currently suffering mood swings and mood issues
- people over the age of 50 years old
Lion's Mane will be least effective in currently healthy individuals looking to boost cognition pass apparent healthy base line. For that, we recommend Study Juice and/or Work Juice.
So can Lion's Mane be a brain booster for those under 50 years old? The short answer is yes it still can, we do have lot's of happy customers under 50 of course, but likely the effects if you are healthy, will be much more mild. If you are experiencing issues, it can still help in most individuals.
So why else to take organic Lion's Mane mushroom? In initial clinical trials, Lion's Mane has a building body of evidence showing it may help manage beta-amyloid plaques, provide vital brain nutrients and support immune function, to name a few other benefits.
Will Lion's Mane work for every single person? Nothing ever does, again this will be highly variable based on the above notes. Most important, temper your expectations if you are under 50 and have been reading hype-marketing from around the web.
Why does our organic Lion's Mane mushrooms not taste bitter? This is due to the growth substrate, highly specialized patented material yielding around 95%> mushroom tissue, opposed to most other organic lab grown mushrooms that usually use a cheap rice substrate and yield around 75%.
NOTE FROM GREG, THE FOUNDER:
"I love Lion's Mane mushroom. Even though I am a healthy, 31 year old guy, my non-stop-till-I-drop supplements regimen consists of Lion's Mane, Red Reishi, Turkey Tail and KSM-66 Ashwagandha.
I take Lion's Mane for its long-term health maintenance effects, brain nutrients and, I feel personally, it helps me sleep. Being an active business owner, my sleeping hours are highly variable. This does affect my memory greatly, sleeping is the ultimate nootropic, however, I feel in my personal experience, Lion's Mane has helped me offset that and does help me get richer sleeps (I take 3 caps before bed). I go everywhere with my Lion's Mane"
