Certified Organic

Since our start in 1989, we have offered only certified organic teas, making us the first exclusively organic tea company in the U.S. Our products and facility are certified organic by Quality Assurance International, an independent third-party organic certifying agency, and all our products carry the USDA Organic Certification seal. Every aspect, from cultivation to handling and packaging of our teas, is carefully inspected to ensure the authenticity and integrity of our organic status.

Fair Trade Certified

The Fair Trade Certified label is backed by Fair Trade USA, the leading third-party certifier of Fair Trade products in the U.S. In 2000, we worked with Fair Trade USA to become the first tea company in the U.S. to offer Fair Trade Certified teas. Fair Trade Certified directly supports the lives of workers on tea estates and ensures that tea plantations are committed to social responsibility, community development, and environmental stewardship.

Non-GMO Project Verified

In 2010, we became the first tea company to offer products verified by the Non-GMO Project. Our Original product line was the first to be verified and since then we’ve worked to verify the majority of our products. The Non-GMO Project is a non-profit organization created to offer consumers a consistent non-GMO verified choice for organic and natural products that are produced without genetic engineering or recombinant DNA technologies.

We handle everything from customer service to manufacturing at our facility in Seattle, Washington. As one of the few tea companies who blends and packages our own teas, we have direct control over quality, food safety, costs, and contribute to U.S. jobs.
