On Saturday, March 8, 2014, the Dallas stars honored Hockey icon Mike Modano by retiring his number 9. The seven-time NHL All-Star played 20 of his 21 NHL seasons with the stars organization. Inducted into the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame in 2012, he became the Franchise leader in nearly every statistical Category, as well as finishing his career as the all-time leading american-born scorer in NHL history. Instrumental in helping the stars capture the 1999 Stanley cup Championship, he represented team USA at the Olympic games on three separate occasions.
