A countdown timer is a choice, however we are always concerned how long time is sufficient to run the fan for. Is 10 minutes too short and mold might grow? Is 30 minutes enough or too long time and waste energy? In winter, we need turn on the timer before jumping into shower and it is not comfortble to start shower in cold.

Mode 1: Completely controlled by humidity: Auto ON and Auto OFF

• You set the humidity level
• When humidity reach to the level, the fan turns on automatically
• When humidity is gone, the fan turns OFF itself

• You leave the room, the fan turns off automatically
• If there is humidity detected, the fan will not turn off until 3 minutes after the humidity is gone

• You press the fan button to turn on
• The fan will automatically turn off 3 minutes after the humidity level is reached

This Humidity Controlled switch does more by controlling second load (the light) in the way you set.
While the factory default setting of light control is manual ON / Auto OFF complying with California Title 24, you don't lose your 3 customization choices that turn light on manually, turning OFF light and fan automatically according to occupancy/vacancy and humidity level detected, turning ON/OFF both light and fan automatically, and manually turning ON light and fan, automatically turning OFF both loads.

Mode 1: Manual ON, Auto OFF (default setting complying with CA Title 24)

Question: Can I use this to control my light and fan separately?
Answer: Yes. The sensor can only your light and fan separately.
 
Question: Will this sensor turn on fan automatically when humidity is detected and turn off the fan when humidity is gone?
Answer: Yes. If the sensor is in ‘automatic humidity’ mode, the sensor will turn on fan automatically when humidity is detected and turn off fan when humidity goes back to normal level.
