- LOW FRICTION - This knife features a blade ground with flat bevels that extend from the spine all the way to the cutting edge. This grind reduces drag during cutting and decreases overall weight.
- HIGH-STRENGTH LOCK - The Ball Bearing Lock features a patented compressive lock that wedges a ball bearing between a fixed anvil and the blade tang. The mechanism also serves as a detent to hold the blade in the closed position.
A Bit About Spyderco
Spyderco was founded in 1976 by Sal and Gail Glesser. Initially, the company focused on selling our first product — the Tri-Angle Sharpmaker— primarily at fairs and trade shows around the country in their Bread Truck. In 1981, the Glessers put down roots in Golden, Colorado and introduced the first Spyderco folding knife. That knife pioneered the concept of a round hole in the blade for one-handed opening, a clip on the handle for carrying at the top of the pocket, and the option of a serrated edge for aggressive cutting performance. Those features revolutionized the knife industry and literally defined the form of the modern folding knife.

Weighing in at a scant three ounces, the Manix 2 Lightweight features a full-flat-ground CTS BD1N stainless steel blade with Spyderco’s signature Round Hole for easy, ambidextrous, one-handed opening. The blade is supported by a high-strength Ball Bearing Lock housed within a precision-machined steel insert in the handle. The durable FRCP (fiberglass reinforced co-polymer) handle includes a molded Bi-Directional Texture pattern to ensure a secure grip in even the most demanding environments. A reversible wire clip provides left or right-side tip-up carry and makes the operation and carry of this knife completely ambidextrous.
