What is Wireless Charging?

Wireless charging dock allows you to charge your Fire HD 8 Plus Tablet by placing it vertically or horizontally in the Dock’s ledge, designed specifically to fit Fire HD 8 Plus.

The dock is stationary, and a wall charger is only needed to plug the dock into the wall to provide the docking station power.

How does Wireless Charging Work?

Wireless charging works by transferring energy from the charging dock to a receiver in the back of the tablet via electromagnetic induction. The charging dock uses an induction coil to create an alternating electromagnetic field, which the receiver coil in the tablet converts back into electricity to feed the battery.

Where are the charging coils located?

The charging coils are located on the back of the tablet and middle of the charging dock.

You simply just place the tablet on the dock, and it will automatically charge.

Can I charge my tablet if I have a case on it?

Yes. As long as the cover or case thickness is 4mm or less, Fire HD 8 Plus will work.

Can I charge other wireless devices on this dock?

While the Dock has been designed specifically to work with the Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus tablet, it may work with other devices that have a wireless charging receiver. It will depend on how well the device’s receiving coils align with the Dock’s transmitting coils. The LED will turn solid white if there is proper alignment. Note that third party devices will only charge at a maximum of 5W.

How fast is the Wireless Charging Dock?

When using the Wireless Charging Dock, Fire HD 8 Plus will fully charge wirelessly in under 3 hours or up to 80% in less than 2 hours.

Flashing White: When the dock is first connected to power, the LED will flash white three times.

Solid White: When Fire HD 8 Plus is docked and charging wirelessly, the LED will turn solid white while it’s charging. When charging is complete, the LED will turn off.

What is Foreign Object Detection?

To ensure the safer operation of the Wireless Dock, if an object not meant to be charging is detected (for example, a coin, paperclip or other metal object), the Wireless charging transmitter will detect the foreign object and stop charging.
