This Link-Belt F-U300 series heavy-duty ball bearing flange unit has a cast iron housing with four bolt holes, clearance seal, and spring-locking collar. This non-expansion type bearing unit is designed for mounting onto bearing surfaces perpendicular to the shaft axis. This ready-to-mount flange unit has a one-piece housing made of cast iron for rigidity and vibration damping. It has a powder coating for corrosion resistance, a grease fitting on the outer surface for reapplying lubricant, and a machined mounting surface for increased stability. The double-sealed, deep-groove ball bearing insert in the housing is made of chromium steel and is rated "heavy duty" for applications with high radial loads and moderate thrust or combination loads. Its wide inner ring provides increased shaft support and reduced inner-ring tilt for smooth operation. The convex sphered outer surface compensates for misalignments, and a rivet on the outside ring prevents rotation of the ring in the housing, reducing heat buildup and prolonging the bearing life. Molded rubber clearance seals with external seal guards and snap rings on both sides of the bearing retain lubricant applied at manufacture and help protect against contaminants. The bearing locks onto the shaft with a spring-locking collar and two setscrews for a positive lock on the shaft. This lock type minimizes ring distortion and vibration and is suitable for low to moderate speed applications where the shaft rotates in a single or reversing direction.
