Brake Options
Brake options include top lock brake (TLB), side lock brake (SLB), bolt-on swivel lock (BSL), or combinations of each.
The TLB (available on 6, 8, and 10” casters) places a positive locking force against the wheel top to securely hold heavy loads, whereas the SLB (available on 12” casters) places the force against the wheel side.
The bolt-on swivel lock (BSL) converts a swivel caster to a rigid caster for straight-line tracking at any 90 degree angle via a spring-loaded bolt inserted into one of 4 notches found on the swivel raceway. Additionally, BSLs are field installable by simply bolting the swivel lock on when you install the caster on your desired application.
Combining both brake types ensures complete immobility over both swivel and wheel on the caster.
