BEGINNER HULA HOOP COMMON QUESTIONS

I am 5'2 and 155lbs. I just started hooping and love it. What size do you recommend?

I am also 5'2" and when I started I weighed 135. My first hoop was a 38" which is perfect for a beginner. Bigger hoops are easier, but I quickly graduated to a 36" and if you love it as I do, you will too. A 38" will be perfect to start. Enjoy!!! So much fun....always smiling when I'm hooping.

What is the difference between 38 and 42"?

The difference in the overall diameter of the hoop of 4" doesn't seem like much but the smaller size and lighter weight of the 38" require the hoop to rotate faster which is noticeable especially for beginning hoopers. The 38" is ideal for smaller body types, say 5' 3" and 110 lbs and below. It is also more popular with intermediate hoopers.

Get Hooping in 4 Easy Steps


CUT OPEN YOUR BOX Get a box knife, scissors or anything else you can cut tape with. Work your way around the box, cutting the tape on all 3 sides. If you got your hoop in a bag, carefully cut open the bag.	REMOVE TAPE & PLASTIC Remove your hoop from the box and cut off any black tape holding it together. Open your hoop up by pulling it apart, do this point AWAY from your face, your hoop is under tension.	LET YOUR HOOP SIT Once your hoop is unpacked, do NOT connect the hoop together. DO NOT CONNECT! It is VERY important to let your hoop sit for a minimum of 12 hours to allow it to naturally open up. If you do not let your hoop sit, it will NOT turn into a circle.	CONNECT YOUR HOOP Did you let your hoop sit for 12 hours? Good, now you can connect it. Insert the white connector into the other end of the tubing, push the button down to let it slide in and click together.

Your hoop will be custom made to your specifications; size and color. Each and every one of our hoops are custom made to order and for this reason, returns are not accepted.
