ZAFU CUSHION Our Zafu Cushions are Vermont-Made firm round meditation pillows stuffed with natural kapok fiber. We offer a Zafu and Zabuton Set. Our Buckwheat Zafu Pillow is filled with natural Buckwheat Hulls. Our Half-Moon Crescent Zafu is available in both Buckwheat and Kapok Fill. Our Zafu Zabuton Sets will support your knees and ankles. Our Zafu Meditation pillows are used on the floor. The Zabuton Mat sold with the Zafu and Zabuton Sets will cushion your knees and ankles.	ZABUTON CUSHION Our Zabuton is the meditation mat that sits under a meditation cushion (like the Zafu) or meditation bench. The Zabuton serves as a cushion for the knees and ankles on siting meditation. Zabutons are sold with a removable, washable, cover in cotton, poly-cotton, or organic fabric. Our Zabuton (27" x 33") has a 4.5" loft suitable for most practitioners. Our Large Zabuton Cushion is the same thickness (4.5") but makes more room for longer legs (30"x33"). Our Zabuton Cushion with a 2.5" loft is recommended as the Zabuton for our Meditation Benches.	GOMDEN CUSHION The Gomden is made only by Samadhi Cushions. The Gomden Cushion is a rectangular meditation cushion of firm foam inside of a removable, washable quilted fabric cover. The Gomden is designed for a cross-legged meditation posture with the knees up off the Zabuton. Gomden sets include Zabuton Cushion for ankles and knees. Consider the Gomden Set with a Meditation Pillow for added height.	SUPPORT PILLOWS Our Meditation Pillows come with a zippered, washable cover in the color of your choice and can be used alone with a Zabuton or with a Zafu Cushion or Gomden to give you extra lift in sitting meditation. 100% Cotton fill (4" loft) for comfort and support. How to Choose a Meditation Cushion

The best meditation posture allows you to sit upright, relax, and breathe freely.

Key Question: what allows for the right distance between your bottom and the floor?

Goal: be high enough off the meditation mat so your thighs angle downward from your hips

If you enjoy yoga and are OK sitting on the floor, then the Zafu will work well. Zafus provide 4" to 6" of height. At this height, for your thighs to angle downward from your hips, your knees will need to rest close to/on the meditation mat.
If you prefer to sit with your legs loosely crossed in front of you with your knees below your hips but up off the meditation mat, our Gomden cushion facilitates this posture.
If you are more comfortable with a kneeling posture, then you should consider a Seiza Bench. This bench is a simple but sturdy design borrowed from Japan.
The Zabuton is the Meditation Mat that goes on the floor under the cushions and benches described above. Depending on how you sit, it will cushion your knees, ankles or both.
