Tips Transitioning To A True All Natural Organic Dog Shampoo
Our product isn’t your typical dog shampoo. You won't find any artificial or synthetic ingredients in our shampoo and organic isn’t just a word in the title or a few organic ingredients in the product.Our whole product is USDA Certified Organic - the highest standard a product can achieve to demonstrate the purity of ingredients and quality of product.
- We don't use artificial thickeners so our shampoo is not as thick as what you may be used to using (that's a good thing)!
- Our shampoo lathers really well and rinses clean; but, you should use only a small amount as it is naturally concentrated.
- To get more lather, add more water (not shampoo).
- Some dogs, especially those with an oily coat, may need multiple baths to transition. It takes time to get rid of the buildup of synthetic ingredients left by other shampoos off your dog’s coat.
- 4-Legger dog shampoo is safe and non-toxic but, like all products you should be careful around your pet's eyes.

Meet 4-Legger's Founder - Melissa Boland
On the same day I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer, my beloved little poodle died after his 3rd battle with cancer. Throughout the 22 months of my cancer treatment there were times when my cell counts were infection fatal - if I got an infection I might not survive. My oncologist recommended that our dogs get frequent baths to keep them as germ free as possible. Within the first week our dogs had dry flaky skin. We learned the dog shampoo we had been using wasn’t “all natural” or “organic” as was claimed on the label.
We knew we could do better! We focused on clean ingredients and chose to develop products using the standards from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) National Organics Program - the highest standard of safety and purity of ingredients for products made in the USA.
