The ESEE Medellin is an affordable folding knife design by Expat Knives that excels at wilderness survival tasks and general everyday chores. This model features a black finished blade outfitted with dual thumb studs and light jimping on the spine. Its stainless steel frame lock handle sports a textured black FRN front scale for improved grip security. Inspired by the ESEE-3 fixed blade, this dependable folder makes a great addition to any EDC or survival kit.

Care/Maintenance: ESEE Medellin knives are made from AUS-8. AUS-8a is almost the same thing as AUS-8. It is often called 8a steel as well. What differs AUS-8a from AUS-8 is that it has been heat-treated. They are the same steel with the same makeup of metals, however. Both AUS8 and AUS8a are very similar to the 440 line of steels. The 440 line is made by an American company whereas the AUS line is made by a Japanese company. It is the user's responsibility to keep the blades properly lubricated and cleaned. We suggest using a dry film rust inhibitor such as TUF-GLIDE or TUF-CLOTH.
