Joe Maxx Coffee Main

We at Joe Maxx Coffee Company, made a voluntary commitment to responsible sourcing, taking environmental, sustainable, and social factors into account to deliver at home and work coffee. We also owe a great debt of gratitude to the coffee bean and all the people who contribute to its journey.

This journey begins for the Arabica coffee bean in the higher elevations around the world on either side of the equator and are cultivated mainly in Latin & South America, Eastern Africa , and Southeast Asia. Where two million small producers rely on coffee for their livelihood. The small plantations of coffee trees produce the cherries and within each cherry lies the seed that will be dried into green coffee.

The journey cannot be accomplished without the hardworking men, women, and children who not only grow the coffee trees but also harvest the fruits by hand, cherry by cherry. The cherries are moved first by human power and then transferred to donkeys, or trucks, to be processed by hand, separating cherry seed from the cherry. The green coffee seeds are dried on large terraces under the high sun. The green coffee is then bagged in burlap bags weighing over a hundred pounds each. These large bags of green coffee beans are then transported to the coast, loaded on ships and travel thousands of miles just for your enjoyment.

This is where Joe Maxx Coffee Company’s journey begins with the roast master blending these wonderful green coffee beans. This is the start of the roasting process. Skillfully The roast master fills the roaster with a precise amount of green coffee beans. Then the roast master uses their years of experience along with their senses of hearing, smell, and sight to adjust the fire to bring the green coffee to its maximum flavor profile producing wonderfully roasted coffee. The peak of flavor happens somewhere around 400 to 500 degrees depending on the varietal origin of the coffee and the roast masters profile of darkness. After cooling, the coffee beans are at the peak of flavor for your enjoyment.

Now this is your part, carefully measure the coffee, bring water to a near boil and apply the water to the ground coffee producing the flavor odor and taste that people enjoy all around the world. This would not be possible without the blend of human effort, coffee, art and craft. This journey is the totality of collective efforts in turn. Seeds of cherries into finely crafted roasted coffee that support millions of livelihoods around the world.
