Alpha-Dog Fixed Blade

The Off-Grid Knives "Alpha-Dog" is a ONE POUND, bomb proof, full tang, wide radius blade with a beefy handle. The Alpha-Dog is a mid-sized length blade made with 5mm thick BÖHLER K110 blade steel (the makers of M390 steel in our Black Mamba EDC) with an incredibly sharp out of the box, Sabre Grind and convex cutting edge. We used G10 scales for durability and strength with a thick and wide ergonomic handle that fits large to extra large hands with or without gloves. Included is a custom Kydex sheath with an easy thumb-push release & detachable nylon/velcro button lock belt loop. We made the sheath tight and secure but not too tight so you can deploy the Alpha-Dog using one hand and a thumb push while wearing it. Tek-Lok Compatible, *Vertical carry only due to the weight of this monster.

Alpha-Dog Features:

• BÖHLER K110 is a cold work tool steel from Austria, it has a high carbon content that is excellent for use in hostile environments and is known for incredible edge retention, strength & toughness, a true hard-use camping and hunting tool.
• K110 has very strong corrosion resistance as well... K110 has a high-chromium content of 12% which makes it a stainless steel. K110 has amazing wear resistance, and enhanced edge holding, HRC 59.
• The Wide Belly Blade is paired with a thick handle made of weather resistant G10 and a "Pinch-Grip" design when you want to choke up for more detailed & precise cutting or camp cooking action.
• The Custom Kydex Sheath is Tek-Lok Compatible and was intentionally made to stay secure on your hip but easy to release and deploy using the Kydex thumb ramp, we feel after testing we found a nice middle ground, (*other heavy fixed blades such as the 1 pound Becker BK2 is over tightened in it's sheath in our opinion preventing a one hand release.) The removable nylon belt loop locks using velcro & a snap closure making it rock solid over your belt.
• Hard To Sharpen? K110 is not hard to sharpen, it takes more time than a softer steel, but it's NOT difficult to put an edge on K110, even in the field with a pocket diamond abrasive sharpener. With all knife steels there's trade offs, with our HRC 59 K110 you'll rarely need to sharpen, but when the time comes, you simply sharpen and reset the K110 for another long run of hard-use cutting tasks.
