How to Replace the Leak Detection Pump?
Step 1: Remove exhaust system from three-way catalytic converter (TWC) to its downstream components to avoid damage to exhaust manifold. Do this by unscrewing bolts with a wrench and a screwdriver.
Step 2: Detach heat deflector plate near left rear wheel with a drill bit. Unscrew plastic nuts holding deflector in position. If reflector is blocked by rear wheel, remove rear wheel first or use jack stands to create a better clearance below vehicle.
Step 3: Once you see leak detection pump, disconnect it from hose clamp using a wrench or a screwdriver. Manually detach connector from LDP and pull it out carefully.
Step 4: Unscrew leak detection bracket using a screwdriver. Install new pump onto bracket and fill in three screw slots to connect pump to pump bracket.
Step 5: Return bracket back to its former position and re-connect hose clamp as well as connector to newly installed LDP.
Step 6: Re-install heat deflector together with TWC. Remove jack stands and test pump for leak detection.
