When 5.1CH mode is selected, whether SPDIF OUT outputs 5.1 channel audio depends on whether the input source contains 5.1-channel audio. If so, the SPDIF OUT connector will output a 5.1 channel audio signal, and the AUDIO OUT connector will output any signal. If not included, both SPDIF OUT and AUDIO OUT connectors output 2-channel audio signals.
