Pockets

One of the most distinguishing details of the traditional Guayabera are its pockets. Originally added to the shirt for purely functional reasons, the pockets have evolved to include vertical pleats and/or embroidery to elevate the Guayabera to a true fashion statement. Our 2- and 4-pocket Guayaberas come in both short sleeve and long sleeve styles.

Pleats

It’s not a true Guayabera unless it has alforzas. These fine, tiny pleats are sewn closely together and run vertically down the front and back of the shirt. This decorative element gives the shirt a polished look that translates well into a casual look or if you’re going to a more formal event.

Details

The mark of a quality Guayabera is in its refined details. One such detail is the small slit that acts as a subtle embellishment to the shirt’s hem, which is meant to be worn on the outside. For added interest and a touch of elegance a small button is attached to each slit along the bottom edge and on the hem of each sleeve.
