Maximum Canvas Relief More space between the Stretcher Bar and the canvas allows you to apply more pressure on the canvas without touching the frame underneath, thereby avoiding the unsightly lines when the canvas contacts the wood.	Keyable Braces Our system solves the problem of canvases whose corners are keyable, but the cross braces are nailed to the Bars, preventing the frame from expanding. True PRO class canvases are keyable in the corners, as well as the cross braces.	Keyable Corners In dry climates, a canvas can slacken. By forcing the keys in the corners, the frame will expand and increase canvas tension for an optimal display of your artwork.	Solid Wood Far superior to finger jointed wood, which is many small wood pieces glued together. Each piece has varying densities and grain that absorb and shed moisture at varying rates, and expand and contract non uniformly, which can cause the wood to bow and the finger joints to fail. The purpose of finger joints is to reduce cost, not to contribute to archival quality. Just say No!

This 48x68 is part of our ROOT-2 RECTANGLE series. Monterey is our 7 oz. raw, 10.5 oz. finished, cotton canvas, sized and double primed with archival quality acrylic gesso, producing a ground impervious to paints leaching through and harming the fabric. Suitable for most all paint types, like oils, acrylics, and alkyds. It has a uniform texture and a medium tooth, which is easy on your brushes. There is a 1/2" gap between the canvas and frame, eliminating the unwanted lines that occur when the gap is less. We never use finger joints in our wood frames, which often fail under tension and over time - the glue joints give-up, and are unsuitable for paintings intended to last for centuries. The 3.25" wide heavy-duty keyable cross braces allow the canvas frame to be tensioned in the middle, where the tension is needed the most...a unique design for which we earned a patent! Also includes a diamond brace to ensure squareness and frame stability. This frame uses even larger 2.25" wide Stretcher Bars for superior strength. Cross braces are glued and fastened at the “cross” for maximum support and rigidity. Both corner keys and brace keys are pre-installed. Stretched using our proprietary MuseumWrap method, producing a drum-tight-stretch up to 50% tighter than other methods, and with balanced tension across the surface. The corners are uncut and neatly folded, making it possible to remove and restretch the canvas on the same size frame.
