Inspired by traditional textiles of Daghestan, the Kaitag Collection features striking and colorful abstract designs. The Kaitag aesthetic was originally created by female weavers in the Caucasus in the 17th and 18th centuries, but the majority of these exquisite antique pieces were destroyed under Soviet rule. In the 1980s, surviving Kaitag rugs were reintroduced to world audiences and became extremely sought after, and our collection pays homage to these beautiful and historic pieces by replicating their truly unique designs that combine Chinese, Mamluk, and Byzantine motifs with vivid palettes.
