Paracable was founded by me (Travis Beck) and my best friend David Fisher in February 2013 in Houston, TX. It all started with the adoption of a tiny little kitty named Baxter for my wife's birthday in October of 2012. Baxter was a super lovable ball of cuteness with a very rambunctious spirit.
Once Baxter was big enough to roam around the house freely, he soon discovered our precious iPhone 5 lightning cables and loved nothing more than to chew on them to his heart's content. The super-soft rubber cables were no match for his razor-like kitty teeth. We soon found ourselves having to shell out 20 bucks for a new cable every time we were careless and left our phones charging on the kitchen counter or on the office desk.
After lots of money lost in destroyed cables, I had enough. I was going to figure out a way to protect these cables from Baxter's relentless chomping. So I called my buddy David, explained my situation, and together we set about trying to devise an elegant way of creating a more durable cable. After much thought and prototyping, the first Paracable was born. As a byproduct of the Baxter-proof cable, we had also created a beautifully textured and colorful cable. "We can make these in all sorts of colors and patterns," we thought. And so we did.
We've spent many years perfecting the manufacturing process in order to create the best cable possible. One that not only looks good, but will last.
