What are Diamonds?
Diamonds are rare, naturally occurring minerals composed of carbon. Diamonds are one of the most durable and versatile substances known and are the hardest substance in existence, which means that nothing can scratch a diamond except another diamond. Diamonds also have the special optical properties of a high index of refraction, high dispersion, and high luster. These properties are what gives the stone a unique ability to sparkle with white shine and disperse prismatic colors, called brilliancy, after the stone is faceted.
Color Grades: The less color, the higher the grade.
Clarity Grades: Clarity grades assess the number, size, relief, and position of inclusions and blemishes.
Cut: Proportions, symmetry, and polish is a measure of how a diamond’s facets interact with light.
Carat Weight: A measurement of weight used for gemstones.
Because of their rarity and beauty, diamonds make the perfect gift for any special occasion.
