Consumers literally have thousands of foot orthotics to choose from. In fact, many people end up trying a variety of different brands without satisfaction. Common complaints with arch supports are:
- Too rigid
- Not supportive enough
- Don’t conform to the shape of my foot
- Don’t provide adequate cushioning or protection from impact
Made in Italy, Saluber orthotic insoles combine innovative designs with the best materials available to produce foot orthotics that are a pleasure to wear.
Saluber is Different
What people notice immediately about Saluber orthotics are how pleasant they feel to the touch.
- The plush feel of the man-made Alcantara top cover is often compared to fine suede. Alcantara is beautiful, and it is used to upholster some of the world’s finest automobiles and airplanes. And when used in footwear Alcantara provides numerous advantages as compared with animal leather: it absorbs perspiration and wetness without becoming slippery, it is temperature neutral – neither becoming hot or cold, it is highly durable and resists abrasion, it resists bacteria and odors, it does not get brittle, the dye doesn’t run, and it can easily be cleaned.
- The full length of Saluber footbeds are padded with genuine Poron. Poron is well known for absorbing shock and vibration, and various versions are used for dampening shock and vibration in industrial equipment, protective helmets, sports gear, footwear, etc. People often describe the feeling of Saluber orthotics as like “walking on a protective pillow”. The full length Poron footbed in Saluber orthotics provides durable protection for people suffering foot pain associated with long hours of standing on hard floors, as well as with such conditions as metatarsalgia and arthritis.
Saluber orthotics combine substantial Biomechanical Support WITH Comfort
- Saluber arch supports are constructed from the bottom up, starting with a semi-rigid plastic shell that lies flat in the shoe. Layers of Poron are added on top of the shell to form the arch and footbed, and then is covered with Alcantara. This construction from solid layers of material helps prevent the arch support from flattening out or yielding over time, and the padded layers that form the arch provide a comfortable interface with the foot. Many other brands of orthotics use curved inserts made from rigid plastic or foam to form the arch support. Often, people find the curved inserts to be too rigid to be comfortable, or to flexible to be supportive. Plus, with usage and time the curved shapes can become weakened and less supportive of the arch.
- Saluber’s “cocooning” heel cup design with two layers of protective Poron cushions the heel from impact and allows the heel to sink in to produce full contact with the arch and to reduce unwanted motion.
- Saluber’s metartarsal pads are high enough to provide relief from metatarsalgia and neuroma pain, without being so rigid as to cause discomfort. For many people, Saluber’s metatarsal pads are “just right”!
Saluber products are designed to prevent and treat disorders of the foot and their related symptoms, including:
