Will the Armor S2000 repel water? No. The Armor S2000 is a concrete surface hardener and densifier. While it will reduce the flow of water through the concrete, it is not a water repellent sealer. If you are looking for a water repellent sealer you want the Armor SX5000 or the Armor SX5000 WB water repellent sealers instead.
What if I want to increase the strength of my concrete and have water repellency benefits? If your concrete requires a water repellent sealer and a concrete densifier, you can apply a water repellent sealer 7-14+ days after the concrete densifier has been applied. If you are unsure about the application process, or whether your concrete requires one or both types of sealers, contact a Foundation Armor technician directly.
Will the Armor S2000 change the look of my concrete? No, the Armor S2000 works entirely below the surface of the concrete and will not change the look or color of the concrete.
Can I apply the Armor S2000 to brick? No. The Armor S2000 is designed specifically for concrete. If you apply the Armor S2000 to brick, stone, or masonry, CSH can form on the surface resulting in discoloration and crystallization. The best sealers to apply to brick, stone, and masonry is the Armor SX5000 or Armor SX5000 WB.
I already sealed my concrete, can I still use the Armor S2000? No. The Armor S2000 is designed for use on unsealed concrete. The pores needs to remain open and unsealed so the Armor S2000 can react with the free lime and calcium in the concrete.
Is the Armor S2000 really permanent? Yes. The Armor S2000 creates a chemical reaction and the results of that chemical reaction are permanent. CSH is the same thing that is formed during the initial concrete curing process - it is what gives concrete its strength. The Armor S2000 reacts with the unused free lime and calcium left in the concrete pores and forms more CSH in the voids. The chemical reaction will continue for up to 90 days from the date of application, increasing the density, and therefore the strength, by up to 45%.
