El accesorio de tubo de la serie Spears 1406 está hecho de plástico de cloruro de polivinilo gris (PVC) y tiene una forma de codo de 90 grados para conectar el tubo de polietileno del programa 40 (PE) en un ángulo. Este codo tiene accesorios de púas en cada extremo para crear un sello apretado en el tubo flexible de PE cuando se utiliza con una abrazadera de manguera (se vende por separado). El PVC es resistente a la corrosión y ligero, y tiene alta resistencia. Resiste reacciones con ácidos, gasolina, alcohol e hidrocarburos. El accesorio cumple con las normas D 2609 establecidas por ASTM International para accesorios de inserción de plástico para uso con tubería de PE, así como las normas ASTM Schedule 40 para espesor de pared para soportar la presión de trabajo a 140 psi. Está certificado por NSF International para su uso con agua potable.
