Heat Tempered Glass Lid

This teakettle comes with a heat tempered glass lid with stainless steel rims. The capacity is 2.2 quarts with usable capacity of 1.75 quarts (or 7 cups). With the glass lid you can see the status of your water's condition. Follow the fill line under the spout when filling.

Harmonic Whistler

Each teakettle comes with a harmonic hum whistler to alert you when your water has reach its boiling point.

Note :

Keep in mind that air pressure is what makes the teakettle whistle. Depending on how much water have in your kettle, it's possible to have your water boil before the pressure inside the kettle the kettle whistle. The longer the kettle boils and builds pressure, the louder the harmonic hum sound will increase.

Fold Down Handle

Each kettle comes with a fold down nylon handle. This handle is heat resistant. By allowing you the ability to fold down the handle it will be easier to both fill, clean or even store away.

Note :

The melting point of this handle is 500°F. So it's very important that the handle is in the upright position when it is on the stove.

Enamel On Steel

This teakettle is made of a high quality carbon steel which is then coated with a heavy porcelain enamel on both the inside and outside. All teakettles have black enamel interiors regardless of the outside color. This porcelain is food safe, and fade resistance.

Note :

Do not bang the teakettle down onto a stove's surface or any hard surface. Repeated banging may damage the enamel.

Pouring

It's recommended that once your water is at the boiling point, that you should wait 10-20 seconds after it's removed from the heat before pouring. This will allow the bubbling water to settle.

Before pouring, flip the whistling cover over the spout in the up position, and then pour.

Heat Source

This teakettle is safe to be used on gas, electric or induction cook-tops (including glass stove tops). When using your kettle use a burner that is similar in size to the base of the kettle.

Gas Stove Use:

Always use a low - medium flame setting. Using high settings and/or using a larger burner will allow the flame to get too high and possibly damage your kettle.

Care

Do not place the kettle on a heat source while the teakettle is empty. If the teakettle is allowed to heat with no water inside, you will damage your kettle's exterior and interior finish.

Never leave a teakettle simmering for long periods of time or unattended. Use a pot holder when removing from your stove.

Do not leave water standing in the teakettle when not in use. This will allow buildup of sediments to occur in your kettle which can give your kettle a "rusted" appearance.

Cleaning

This teakettle can be hand washed with a non abrasive sponge and everyday cleaning solution.

To remove build up from evaporated water, you can either boil lemon juice & water or use the non-abrasive 'Bar Keeper's Friend' cleaning solution.
