Buckle Me Baby Coat's Story
Experts recommend taking puffy coats off in the car seat - but experts aren't around for epic parking lot meltdowns.
Frustrated with having to choose between warmth, convenience, and safety, founder and inventor Dahlia Rizk realized that by moving the zipper to the side and splitting the shoulder seams, coats could stay on and be used safely in the car seat at the same time.
She got a patent, had a prototype made, and crash tested the coats where they not only outperformed traditional puffy coats, but also performed almost identically to no coat at all. The coats have also been evaluated by Child Passenger Safety Technicians (CPST's), first responders, and is CPSIA approved.
